| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description TempMinder(R) system lets you monitor your pool or hot tub water temperature from indoors. The Water Monitor floats in the water, gauging its temperature and transmitting info to the Wireless Receiver located indoors, up to 328 ft. away. The receiver also displays indoor temp in F° and C° and humidity. You can even program the system to sound an alarm when the water reaches a specified high or low temperature! The receiver has 3 channels, so you can add two additional monitors. Add another Water Monitor to keep track of both the pool and the hot tub (item #587295, sold separately). Add an Air Temperature/Humidity Monitor to receive outdoor temp and humidity info (item #587030, sold separately). System as sold includes one Water Monitor and one Wireless Receiver, and uses a total of 4 AA batteries (included). Whether you're worried about the hot tub freezing or just want to know when the pool's the right temperature to jump in, TempMinder(R) system is the convenient way to stay informed. Order yours now!

One of the best things I bought for my pool - but it leaks July 16, 2009 FlyingPolarBear (Fullerton, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I love this little device. My pool is about 100 feet away from the receiver and displays the temp near the door (before going outside) where everyone can see it. Aesthetically it looks really nice floating in the pool and it comes with a string that I attached to the side of the pool, so it can be docked where you want it. Switch the display mode to show either indoor temp or one of the sensor channels. If you buy this, also order a pair of Lithium AA batteries (according to the manual Lithium AAs are OK, better withstand freezing temps if you live in a cold area, and last much longer than regular batts).
Update: after 2 months in the pool it stopped working. I openend up the unit to find rusty color droplets of water inside - it is leaking somehow. I was surprised because initially I had a very good product impression and I thought maybe the other reviewers just had bad luck. But this leak problem must be very common. I am going to see if I can get it replaced under warranty and when the replacement arrives I may add some silicone sealant to "fix" the factory design problem on my own. It is a truly nice product which has an unfortunate fatal design/manufacturing error.
Has 1 year warranty! May 13, 2009 C. L. Campbell (Las Vegas, NV) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the best remote pool temp gauge I've had (most are leaky crap with a 30-90 day warranty). The pool unit is easy to read even in direct sun. [.......].
It was very easy to set up and after a month it still works. The pool is about 45 feet and two rooms away from the receiver. I tried taking it to ~110 feet away and it still received a signal.
Update 6/3/09: It's still working, gotta love it! Too bad my comments on this vendor were removed by Amazon.

Works well most of the time. Problem with the unit. Company never responded to my e-mails. Won't buy from this company again.
Doesn't Work June 25, 2009 A. Prole (new york, ny) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had high expectations for the price of this item. I also purchased the addition transmitter for outdoor temp. Unfortunately they didn't work. We have the best conditions possible (clear sunny day, only 10 feet from pool and windows open with no obstructions) and the transmitter only worked if it was in the same room.
I did like the pool thermometer by itself. Looks well made and had big numbers that you could read without bending into pool. I think I may purchase just that.
Seals Leaked, No Warranty August 19, 2009 K Dawson (MN) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Lasted two months then shorted out because of "water intrusion." Brookstone will not stand behind. Manufacturer basiscally stated it shouldn't be used in a hot tub. "Hot tubs are very hard on this device." What is that supposed to mean? If it isn't designed for hot tun use and nobody will stand behind the warranty, why is it marketed for use in a hot tub? Brookstone and Research Minder have horrible customer service.
