Amazon.com Product Description They say it's not the heat, but the humidity. Well fret not, because the versatile Timex TX6010 wireless electronic thermometer displays both at the same time. The compact unit--which mounts on a wall or sits unobtrusively on a desktop or shelf--sports a three-line LCD panel that displays the indoor temperature on the top line, the outdoor temperature on the middle line, and the indoor relative humidity on the bottom line. As a result, you can instantly gauge whether to wear shorts or pants on a seemingly mild summer day, give the plants a little extra water in the morning, or crank the air conditioner as the afternoon progresses. The temperature readings range from 32 to 104 degrees F (0 to 40 degrees C) for the indoor temperature to -58 to 158 degrees F (-50 to 70 degrees C) for the outdoor temperature. The relative humidity, meanwhile, is measured on a scale of 1 to 99 percent, with the hygrometer performing best between 40 and 70 percent. The TX6010 is remarkably easy to read--even from across the room--thanks to the pronounced digits, which measure 0.34 inches tall. Even better, the system comes with a wireless remote sensor/transmitter that measures the outdoor temperature from up to 100 feet away. Thanks to the extended range of the wireless transmitter, you can mount the main station virtually anywhere without losing the remote signal. The mounting options for the main station stem from the integral table stand (for shelf or desk installation) and the built-in keyhole slot (for wall mounting). The remote sensor comes with its own tabletop stand, but rather than a keyhole slot, it includes a full wall-mount bracket that attaches via either screws or two-sided tape (both included). Note, however, that the remote sensor should not be exposed to direct sunlight and must be protected from rain, snow, and wind. The TX6010 also features a minimum/maximum memory function that records the high and low temperatures of the day. The values are available at the push of a button, with a second button clearing and resetting the memory on command. And users will love the snazzy white housing and attractive interface, which includes a six-button control panel on the main station and a red LED on the sensor that indicates when the unit is transmitting. Power requirements include two AAA batteries for the main unit and two AA batteries for the transmitter (not included), with alkaline batteries recommended in most cases. The TX6010's main station measures 2.8 by 4.8 by 0.9 inches (W x H x D), while the remote sensor checks in at 2.8 by 3.9 by 0.9 inches. The entire bundle is backed by a one-year factory warranty. What's in the Box Main station, wireless remote sensor, integral table stands for each unit, wall-mount bracket for sensor, mounting screws, two-sided tape, user's manual.

| Customer Reviews: Does the job September 22, 2007 BJ (Sacramento,CA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This reasonably price theromoeter/hygrometer gets the job done. The outside temperature is updated may once every ~1min. The indoor readings are updated probably once ~30sec. This is slow, but it's okay and helps prolong battery life.
The only gripe I have is the way the unit stands. It stands vertically, which makes it difficult to read the measurements comfortably sitting or standing.
Humidity range listed here is wrong August 26, 2008 mgldan (Stanford, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I bought this hygrometer and found out that the relative humidity scale only goes from 40-70%, not 1-99% as in the Amazon.com description.
Happy for a Year November 19, 2008 D. Hickerson (Sanford, NC United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
For a year after purchasing this unit, I was very happy. I loved being able to tell the kids exactly what the temperature was outside and the humidity reading seemed valid. One drawback originally was that the outside unit is not waterproof. This means it has to be put inside of something or on a covered porch (or similar) to keep the rain from reaching it. Now, however; my unit does not read the temperature properly. It says the proper inside temp. but only reads the proper outside temperature about half of the time (for instance, if it is 64 outside, it might read 104.5). I've changed the batteries and reset the unit to no avail. Sometimes, like now, it reads right but as the day progresses it gives me problems. The unit wasn't expensive and did last a full year and did a good job for that year which is why it garnered three stars. If I had known it wasn't going to last longer than a year, I would have spent a little more on a better unit.
