Amazon.com Review Don't let its looks fool you. This forecaster may appear at first glance to be nothing more than a high-tech clock. However, upon closer consideration you'll discover that its sleek, jumbo-sized display unit conceals the functionality of a sophisticated weather station. This wireless gadget measures and tracks outdoor and indoor temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure, plus displays date and time of day. It includes one indoor/outdoor wireless transmitter with an LCD temperature display and a transmission range of up to 100 feet. (For the truly weather-obsessed, the system can be expanded to three-channel use by purchasing additional transmitters, so users can simultaneously monitor temperature in four different locations: outside, in the nursery, in the spa, in the wine cellar--the possibilities are endless.) A main receiver unit shows trend indicators--upward, downward, and steady--for all functions, while a min/max recall feature stores daily highs and lows for temperature and humidity. Forecast icons--sunny, partly sunny, cloudy, rainy, or stormy--predict weather conditions 12 hours in advance based on changing barometric pressure. The unit is powered by four AA batteries and includes a convenient, low-battery indicator. This item is covered by a one-year, limited warranty --Mary Park

Great Purchase December 16, 2007 Matt (Northern California) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had read the reviews about the display fading on this and was concerned. I have owned the unit and three remotes for over a year now. The displays were fading over time, but after new batteries the display was as clear and bright as the day I opened it. I'm measuring outside temp and also the temp in a hot tub with the supplied probe and both remotes have survived a full year outside without problems. I've been very happy with the purchase.
Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer March 13, 2006 G. Breedlove (Roseburg, Or USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The Taylor 1462 Wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer, clock and forcaster is all that I hoped it would be. It's accurate as far as outdoor temp. is concerned and I'm astounded at how accurate it is on the weather forcast. It was very easy to setup and the digital face is large enough to see accross the room.
This Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer is great! June 9, 2007 J. M. Partin (Virginia, USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It works great and the numbers are big enough to see across the room. I gave it as a gift and they just love it!
Good, low price weather monitor February 9, 2005 A. Joseph (Chicago, IL) 19 out of 20 found this review helpful
This product does a good job monitoring the temperature at the base location & one remote location (included). The humidity sensor is only for the base location. The weather forecaster doesn't always match up with the actual weather (the instructions are a little unclear if you should set it to the actual weather, or the prediction for the next day). Does not measure wind speed, and thus windchill. Large readout, able to take up to 3 remote sensors. Overall, a good product.
Works OK June 12, 2007 Martin Koschnitzke (Estes Park, CO) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The temperture and time work very well and easy to set up. The "forcasting" is pretty tough to adjust correctly and mine still isn't right. Would have been better just to read out the barometric pressure and the trend. Also dissapointed the 24 hour maximum and minimum has to be reset every day.
